Job summary

Waldron Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Indiana is seeking an Activities Assistant to support planning, implementing, and evaluating resident activity programs in line with each resident’s assessment and care plan. You will help maintain a warm, engaging atmosphere, prepare activity rooms, coordinate supplies, and document progress notes reflecting residents’ responses.

Experience in Long Term Care activities is preferred; strong patience, tact, and clear English communication are

Qualifications

• Experience in Long Term Care Activities Department is preferred.
• Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, developing, organizing, implementing & evaluating activity programs and the quality assurance program for the Activities Department.
• Observe resident attendance, mood, behavior, and degree of involvement to evaluate progress and chart outcomes.
• Develop and maintain good rapport with other departments to ensure daily activities run smoothly.
• Prepare activity rooms and recommend equipment and supplies for activities.
• Follow the care plan in providing daily activities for residents and document progress.
• Oversee residents engaged in activities to promote physical, social, and mental well-being.
