Job summary

Heritage House Rehabilitation & Healthcare in Connersville, IN, is hiring a part-time Memory Care Activities Assistant to bring warmth and engagement to residents. You will plan and lead meaningful activities that support cognitive and physical well-being, while collaborating with a dedicated care team in a facility renowned for compassionate Hoosier hospitality.

This role offers daytime shifts, a supportive work environment, and opportunities to grow through ongoing training and mentorship

Qualifications

• Demonstrates CARE values to residents, family members, customers and staff. CARE: Compassion, Accountability, Relationships, Excellence
• High school diploma or GED or 1–3 months' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Successful completion of a State approved Nursing Assistant training and competency evaluation program or a CNA competency evaluation program approved by the State.

Part-time; Days

The Memory Care Activity Assistant plays a vital and heartfelt role in enriching the lives of residents. With warmth, patience, and genuine care, they help create a joyful and engaging environment where seniors feel seen, heard, and valued.

Skills Needed

• Supportive Presence: Being able to truly connect with residents, understanding their emotional and social needs.
• Passion: A desire to work with those experiencing Alzheimer’s disease and other memory-related dementia assuring that each person lives every day to their maximum cognitive and physicalability.
• Teamwork: The ability to work towards a common goal of excellent care for our residents. Cooperating closely with the care team to support residents holistically.
• Time Management: Balancing daily schedules, multiple residents, and activity prep.
• Creativity: Create engaging, age-appropriate activities that suit different physical and cognitive abilities.

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Successful completion of a State approved Nursing Assistant training and competency evaluation program or a CNA competency evaluation program approved by the State. This training can also be provided by the community.
