Position Summary

Membership Sales Representative is responsible for reaching out into the community and selling YMCA memberships to prospective members as well as program registrations. The role involves achieving membership target goals by meeting or exceeding membership targets while supporting a team environment. The representative promotes the Y, sales initiatives, programs, and benefits.

Essential Functions

• Inspire prospective members to join the YMCA of the Foothills, both in the facility and in the community, and register for Y programs and events.
• Actively pursue enrollment of new members through self-generated leads, Y programs, promotions, and referrals, establishing and maintaining leads and giving facility tours and membership presentations as needed.
• Achieve membership and program sales goals by meeting or exceeding membership targets set by Sales leadership on a regular basis, while supporting a team environment.
• Present the YMCA of the Foothills in a way that brings our cause to life by selling our purpose over facility and focusing on starting the process of turning a casual member to a connected member.
• Effectively communicate with prospective members and create positive guest experiences with the intention of selling by conducting interviews and/or tours responsive to the needs of prospective members and procuring memberships. Process new memberships through the membership system.
• Generate and follow through on all leads through community outreach, data collection, guest pass tracking and any other opportunity.
• Seek and maintain current knowledge and awareness of programs, events, and marketing campaigns to encourage participation in Y programs, leading to membership and program registrations.
• Work as a member of a team to implement all membership drives/campaigns and membership product sales in and outside of the facility, and participate in YMCA membership events as needed.
• Present the YMCA of the Foothills in a way that best connects with prospective members and establishes trust through transparent pricing, open dialogue, and passion for our mission.
• Enforce and adhere to operational standards regarding safety and risk management, inspecting the building, being aware of potential hazards, cleaning and setting up as necessary, and knowing the Emergency Action Plan.
• Build rapport relationships with students and parents; help them connect with each other and the Y, encouraging member involvement and identifying potential volunteers.
• Promote the Y and encourage participation in initiative programs and benefits.
• Follow YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention, emergencies, dress guidelines, and cleanliness standards.
• Maintain positive relations and rapport with members, staff and volunteers at all times, supporting other staff and volunteers through good communication skills.
• Attend staff meetings and trainings as scheduled and required, and act as a representative of the YMCA of the Foothills at all times.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a sales role.
• Knowledge of sales practices and techniques.
