Job summary

Foothills Area YMCA in Seneca, SC is seeking a Membership Associate to welcome members and guests, respond to their needs, and promote memberships and programs.

You will handle tours, provide excellent service, maintain lobby cleanliness, and help connect people with Y activities while upholding CPR/AED and First Aid readiness.

Weekday and weekend availability is expected; basic computer skills and strong interpersonal abilities are required.

Qualifications

• Previous customer service, sales, or related experience.
• CPR/AED and First Aid certifications required within 60 days of hire.
• Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
• Basic knowledge of computers.
• Weekday and weekend availability and flexibility during regular facility hours.

• Responds to member and guest needs.

• Develops and maintains positive relationships with volunteers and members; helps connect members with the Y.

• Applies all YMCA policies dealing with member services.
• May hand out locker keys and towels; monitor locker rooms as required.

The Membership Associate at Foothills Area YMCA maintains a supportive, positive atmosphere that welcomes and respects all individuals. The Membership Associate responds to member and guest needs and promotes memberships and programs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Responds to the individual needs of the other person.


• Provides excellent service to members, guests, and program participants in the Y and on the phone, contributing to member retention. Maintains cleanliness and organization of the lobby area.
