Job summary

The Boys & Girls Club of Truckee Meadows is seeking a friendly Part-Time Membership Receptionist at the Pennington Reno Club to greet members, families, and visitors, explain programs, and assist with membership enrollment. You will help maintain a welcoming lobby and coordinate with program staff during member pick-up.

The schedule is 2:00–7:00 PM on school days and 12:00–6:00 PM during school breaks. Pay starts at $14.50 per hour.

Qualifications

• Bilingual preferred to assist a diverse member base.
• Strong communication and friendly demeanor.
• Interest in data entry, billing, and accounts receivable as a career path.

Responsibilities

• Greet members, parents, and visitors with a friendly, professional demeanor.

The Membership Receptionist greets members, parents, and visitors with a friendly, professional demeanor, provides information about Club programs, and assists with membership processes. This role helps maintain a secure, clean, and organized entrance, creating a positive first impression, monitors lobby activity to prevent unauthorized access, and coordinates with program staff during member pick-up.

These are some of the additional things you will do as a Membership Receptionist:

• Monitor lobby activity to prevent unauthorized access to restricted or program areas and coordinate with program staff during member pick-up.
• Assist the Membership Coordinator with accepting and processing member applications accurately and efficiently.
• Provide information on Club programs to members, parents, visitors, and respond to phone inquiries.

This is what your schedule would look like:

• This role is part-time.
• Afternoon hours: 2:00–7:00 PM during the school year; 12:00–6:00 PM during breaks.
• Work location: Pennington Clubhouse - 1300 Foster Drive, Reno, NV.

Qualifications

We have great staff who can teach you skills on the job, but there are some traits that will make you more successful as a Membership Receptionist:

• Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred.
• You are a fun, energetic, and excited individual.
• You want to pursue a career in data entry, billing, and accounts receivable.
• You have a passion for building a better community.
• You have the ability to communicate and cooperate with children, other staff, and parents.
• Minimum of 17 years or older

As part of our commitment to child and member safety, there are some additional steps that all hires will be asked to complete.

• You will need to provide 3 references. These references should be professional if you have work experience. If you don’t have work experience, these references can be any non-family member over the age of 18 who can speak to your character and professionalism.
• You will also be asked to complete a drug screen for any illegal substances, a background check, and a fingerprint check.
