Descripción del empleo

The Membership Program Manager is responsible for executing IDDBA’s membership growth and retention plans, with a primary focus on the retail member experience. This role balances proactive acquisition through site visits and trade show engagement with the development of year-round member value. By acting as a liaison for member needs, the Membership Program Manager helps identify and support opportunities for increased engagement—such as informal networking and resource adoption—to ensure long-term member satisfaction and community growth.

Position Responsibilities

Partner with the VP of Marketing & Membership to translate the annual membership vision into a detailed tactical roadmap; accountable for the day-to-day execution of acquisition and retention activities.

  • Analyze membership trends and engagement metrics to provide the VP with evidence-based recommendations for strategic pivots and resource allocation.
  • Contribute front-line market intelligence to the development of the annual membership growth strategy, ensuring goals are realistic and grounded in member feedback.

Help grow retail membership through:

  • The execution of a tailored engagement plan for retail member accounts, ensuring high-touch communication from initial prospect identification through annual renewal.
  • Actively soliciting feedback from retail members to identify emerging industry trends and pain points, translating those insights into actionable recommendations for IDDBA member benefits and engagement tactics.
  • Conducting high-impact site visits and "desk-side" meetings with retail category managers and executives to increase their team's utilization of IDDBA research and educational resources.

Support the implementation of the organization’s exhibiting strategy and serve as a Member Ambassador at trade shows, fairs, and IDDBA events.

Design and facilitate informal member engagement initiatives, such as "coffee chats," peer-to-peer discussion groups, and topical networking circles, to foster a sense of community and year-round value beyond the annual show.

Structure and oversee the new member onboarding process using a combination of personal communications and automated tools for efficiency. This includes working cross functionally to know and understand member benefits.

Provide hands-on account management to support retailer attendance at IDDBA’s annual show through direct engagement with member organizations (phone calls, meetings, etc.).

Develop and present monthly membership reports and prepare association materials as needed for Annual and Spring Board meetings.

Act as staff liaison for the Membership Committee.

Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement

Partner with the Education Team to align learning initiatives with member needs; specifically lead the recruitment and facilitation of member-led discussions and networking cohorts that complement formal educational content.

Perform other projects and duties as assigned to assist in meeting departmental and organizational goals and initiatives.
