Job summary

YMCA of Southeastern NC is seeking a Membership Director for the Wilmington area. The role oversees Member Services, drives recruitment and retention, and guides staff across Nir and Midtown branches to ensure consistent operations and strong member engagement.

The position requires supervisory experience and a bachelor’s degree or equivalent, with experience using Daxko Operations and a commitment to nonprofit service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related field preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Previous supervisory experience in member services.
• YMCA or other non-profit experience preferred.
• Excellent personal computer skills.
• Experience with membership software Daxko Operations.
• Highly attentive to detail.
• Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.

Responsibilities

• Assists in creating a member-focused culture and models relationship-building skills in all interactions.
• Fosters a climate of innovation and resolves problems to ensure member satisfaction.
• Recruits, hires, trains, develops, schedules and directs additional administrative support personnel for Member Services.
• Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals for the YMCA of Southeastern NC.
• Audits the implementation of Welcome Desk procedures.
• Reviews and updates desk procedures and communicates changes to Member Services Leadership.
• Coordinates with Leadership Staff on financial transactions.
• Audits membership files for accuracy.
• Handles rentals and contracts for the Wilmington Area.
• Participates in staff meetings and related Member Service meetings at Wilmington Area YMCA’s.
• Provides leadership and direction to membership staff at Nir and Midtown branches, ensuring consistent operations.
