Job summary

Ymca seeks a Wellness Center Associate to create a safe, welcoming gym environment, guide equipment use, and uphold cleanliness and safety standards. You’ll engage members, explain basic exercises, and support wellness programs to boost participation.

Responsibilities include monitoring activity, assisting guests, cleaning routines, and responding to emergencies per YMCA safety protocols. A friendly, proactive attitude is essential.

Qualifications

• An enthusiastic and engaging personality with a willingness to learn.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to demonstrate basic exercises and safe movement techniques.
• Must be able to perform CPR and/or other first responder duties as trained.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the fitness center floor by actively observing member activity and equipment use; intervene to correct unsafe behaviors and reinforce YMCA policies.
• Provide high-quality member assistance by demonstrating equipment operation and offering basic exercise guidance.
• Maintain facility cleanliness and equipment functionality through cleaning, organizing weights, and inspecting machines.
• Respond promptly to emergencies by following YMCA safety protocols and communicating with leadership.
• Foster positive member relationships by greeting members and creating a welcoming atmosphere.
• Support YMCA programs by sharing information about upcoming classes and wellness opportunities.
