Job summary

Greater Alliance Federal Credit Union in Hackensack, NJ seeks a Universal Member Services Representative to deliver friendly, accurate member service by phone or in person, handling daily inquiries and cash transactions.

You will open new accounts, process loans, promote banking products, and ensure compliance with BSA/Patriot Act. A focus on accuracy, teamwork, and member satisfaction is essential.

Qualifications

• Six months to two years of similar or related experience.
• High school education or GED.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome members to the credit union in a courteous, professional and timely manner, providing prompt, accurate, and efficient member transactions.
• Receive share drafts/checks and cash for deposit to accounts, verify amounts, examine share drafts/checks for proper endorsement, and review ATM IP-Hub checks for proper processing.
• Cash share drafts/checks and process withdrawals and deposits accurately. Pay out cash making sure proper verification is completed and signatures are verified.
• Promote, explain, and cross-sell banking promotions and credit union products and services such as CDs/rates, ATM/debit, reloadable and gift cards and online/mobile banking products.
• Maintain a knowledge of policies, procedures and trends in the credit union industry, with attention to BSA/Patriot Act and Robbery procedures.
• Balance cash drawer at the end of the shift; research and resolve any discrepancies by following procedures/policy.
• Set up New Consumer and Business Accounts and provide members with all necessary information for membership; service existing accounts and promote products and services.
• Process all types of consumer loans, e.g., personal, auto, overdraft, business and secured loans.
• Provide basic mortgage information to members and submit mortgage applications through the Greater Alliance website.
• Assist other branches and with opening/closing of the branches; Home Equity closings; Training buddy for new hires.
• Respond to members' requests, problems, and complaints, resolving issues or directing them to the appropriate person; handle complex questions for other Representatives.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of policies and procedures, rules and regulations.
• Approve member exceptions and authorize service fee refunds when necessary.
• Other duties as assigned.
