Overview
The Member Services Representative contributes to building a fun and engaging fitness environment for team members while delivering excellent customer service to members. They are enthusiastic about fitness, excited about serving others, and help deliver an exceptional member experience at the gym level.
Responsibilities
- Greet all members & guests, focusing on engagement and retention.
- Assist with membership, retail, and tanning product sales.
- Promote membership privileges including tanning, group fitness, small group training, and childcare.
- Facilitate new member enrollment.
- Check in members and guests according to company procedures, resolving any issues promptly.
- Answer phones courteously and professionally.
- Communicate special events to members and guests.
- Handle member requests or escalate to a manager.
- Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor.
- Be knowledgeable about all club facilities, services, programs, and schedules.
- Keep work area clean and organized.
- Navigate all front desk stations, including check-in, guest services, and sales.
- Perform opening and closing duties as per checklists.
Requirements
- Preferred minimum 1 year of experience in a service-oriented role.
- Effective communication skills with proficiency in reading and writing.
- Strong customer service orientation.
- CPR/AED certification required (can be obtained within 30 days of hire).
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift or move up to 50 lbs.
- Prolonged standing and walking are required.
Reporting Structure
- Reports directly to the General Manager and Assistant General Manager.
