Job summary

YMCA of Catawba Valley is seeking a Member Services Associate to assist members at the front desk, enroll members in programs, and handle inquiries with a warm, service-oriented approach.

Under the direction of the Membership Director, you will manage payments, cash drawer, and communications between shifts while supporting administrative tasks and ensuring a welcoming, safe environment aligned with our mission and values.

Qualifications

• High school graduate (preferable) with previous general office experience.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Familiarity with the use of office equipment.
• Need to pass the quiz for Daxko (membership software) training.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of the team to complete assignments.
• Strong organizational, math, and problem solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Providing primary attention to member needs
• Accepting payments for program, memberships, etc.
• Being responsible for cash drawer
• Monitoring member traffic to ensure proper usage of membership cards
• Answering the telephone and directing calls as required
• Keeping the displays clean and stocked, bulletin boards neat, etc.
• Providing administrative assistance to the Membership Director
• Performing any other miscellaneous duties as assigned by the supervisor
• Must have a positive attitude and enthusiastic performance of duties

• Paying attention to details and following through to ensure member satisfaction
• Having complete understanding of YMCA programs and services and the ability to explain these accurately to members and potential members
• Any other duties assigned by the Membership Director or Executive Director
• All YMCA staff are responsible for creating a safe, inclusive environment. This includes following all YMCA policies and procedures related to abuse prevention, reporting concerns or incidents immediately, and maintaining appropriate boundaries with youth and members
