Job summary

Champions First Credit Union in Crawfordville is hiring a Member Service Specialist I to provide friendly, accurate service and build strong member relationships. You will handle teller transactions, explain products, and open new accounts in a fast-paced office setting.

The role requires FiCEP certification, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to multitask across front-line service and branch operations. A comprehensive benefits package supports career growth.

Responsibilities

• Delivering an exceptional member experience by providing friendly, accurate, and professional service during every interaction.
• Working comfortably in a dual-role environment, providing personalized one-on-one member service in-office and assisting transactions on the teller line.
• Processing deposits, withdrawals, transfers, loan payments, check cashing, cash advances, and monetary instrument purchases.
• Opening new accounts and assisting with loan inquiries by explaining products, completing system entries, and collecting documentation.
• Identifying member needs and recommending appropriate products and services that support financial goals.
• Resolving routine and complex member service issues through research and policy explanations.
• Supporting daily branch operations including cash management, vault balancing, night deposits, and ATM deposits.
• Following security, documentation, and regulatory requirements while assisting teller questions and balancing issues.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Delivering an exceptional member experience by providing friendly, accurate, and professional service during every interaction.

• Processing a variety of financial transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, transfers, loan payments, check cashing, cash advances, and monetary instrument purchases.
• Opening new accounts and assist with loan inquiries by explaining available products, completing system entries, and collecting required documentation.
• Identifying member needs and recommend appropriate products and services that support members’ financial goals.
• Resolving routine and complex member service issues by researching concerns, explaining policies, and identifying effective solutions.
• Supporting daily branch operations, including cash management, branch and vault balancing, night deposits, ATM deposits, and other cash equipment.
• Following established security, documentation, and regulatory requirements while serving as a knowledgeable resource for teller questions, complicated transactions, and balancing issues.

Position Requirements

What You Bring to the Table

• High school diploma plus some related member service or teller experience at a credit union or financial institution
• FiCEP certification (required)
• Extensive knowledge of credit union products and services
• Professional, well-developed interpersonal skills and a positive, welcoming presence
• Advanced written communication skills; complete sentences, proper grammar, and error-free emails and letters
• Intermediate math skills, comfortable working with percentages, decimals, and fractions
• Comfort operating standard office equipment plus a vault, ATM balancing process, cash counter, cash advance machine, and coin machine
• Ability to lift full boxes of work and coin bags, open filing cabinets and vault doors, and bend, stoop, or stand as needed

Full-Time/Part-Time Full-Time

Salary Range (commensurate with experience) $20+/per hour. Compensation is also dependent on experience.
