Job description

Preferred Credit Union is seeking a Member Services Representative for our Kalamazoo branch. In this role, the successful candidate will provide superior member service to all members and prospective members, in person, online, and over the phone. The ideal candidate will be an outgoing, kind, courteous, respectful individual with an AMAZING ATTITUDE.

Responsibilities for this position will include, but are not limited to, the following duties:

  • Provide exceptional service by responding to member needs in person, via phone, or email with a friendly and professional demeanor.
  • Process loan applications and supply correct information to the underwriting team in a timely manner.
  • Work with the underwriting team to fund and disburse loans.
  • Support the Teller line as needed, accurately processing deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, and other transactions.
  • Address and resolve member concerns or complaints promptly.
  • Educate members about our products and services to help them meet their financial goals.
  • Work closely with team members and other departments to support overall credit union operations and initiatives.
To be successful in this role you will need the following experience, skills, and attributes:
  • Prefer 2-3 years of experience working in a credit union or similar financial institution, in a member facing role.
  • Clear understanding of financial regulations and compliance.
  • Strong communication skills verbally and written.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with members and staff.
