Texas Co-op in Fredericksburg, TX seeks a part-time Member Services Associate to promote services and handle new connections, billing inquiries, and delinquency recovery. You will collect fees, deposits, and trip charges, and coordinate connects/disconnects while delivering courteous member support.
The role emphasizes accurate data entry, strong communication in English (Spanish preferred), basic office software skills, and ability to multitask in a busy office environment.
Represent the Cooperative in the promotion of Cooperative services and programs to members and employees by meeting with current or prospective members to establish, transfer or terminate electric service, assist with member inquiries or complaints, collect membership fees, deposits, and trip fees. Responsible for resolving member billing questions and inquiries, collection of outstanding accounts, setting up payment arrangements, and reducing account delinquency. Responsible for non-pay disconnects and collection of two billing cycles.
A high school diploma or equivalency is required. Associate degree in office management, business administration, secretarial administration, or related field preferred.
Minimum 1 year of customer relations experience required.
Continuing education in computer applications such as word processing, spreadsheets, and databases is preferred. Continuing education in Microsoft Office software applications is preferred. Continuing education in customer service is preferred.
This position requires working most of the time inside an office building with the usual office conditions. The position required repetitive motions and manual dexterity for duties such as dialing and keyboarding. The individual must be able to use office equipment such as a copier, facsimile, calculator, computer, and printer. The individual must be able to present information to others and work to deadlines. As a part-time position, work hours are limited to less than 30 hours per week, and fall within the typical Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. work schedule. Occasional work outside this normal period may be required, including callouts during emergency/disaster situations.
