MEMBER SERVICE REP. - MILITARY SPOUSE PROGRAM

SUMMARY:
The Member Service Representative assists new and existing members of the Credit Union with all of their account transactions and uncover sales opportunities offered by University Credit Union as a part of an active, member driven service and sales culture. In addition, this position acts as a resource in identifying and resolving member servicing issues.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Consistently provide an outstanding member experience, with a member first attitude.
- Accurately process all financial service transactions, maintain responsibility for cash drawer, and follow proper balancing procedures.
- Service new and existing deposit and loan accounts and perform new account processing.
- Proactively advise members on our products and services, by effectively interacting with members on how to take advantage of their benefits and features.
- Achieve personal goals in deposits, loans, and referrals and assist the Branch in reaching new business development goals.
- Comply with regulations, credit union policies and procedures, and security procedures.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Meet and exceed financial and production goals.
- To proactively develop, improve, and expand knowledge/skills while striving for performance excellence.
- Accurately complete all member requested, transactions and data input accounting to policies and procedures.
- Ensure complete adherence to established policies and procedures paying special attention to balancing requirements.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Organized, self-starter, knowledge of loan processing, accurate, detailed, professional, well groomed, articulate, written skills, preferred knowledge/proficiency in Excel and Word.
- Cash Handling and Teller experience a plus.
- Ability to articulate clearly both verbally and in writing.
- Good reasoning abilities and sound judgment.
- Working knowledge of computer software programs, including word processing.
- Ability to handle detailed work.
- We will teach:
- Basic understanding of Credit Union operations, including opening and closing accounts, loans, and certificate procedures.
- A thorough knowledge of Teller and Member Service Representative operations and procedures.
- Understanding of the Credit Union philosophy.
- Knowledge of basic accounting procedures.
- Excellent communication skills with ability to be concise, clear and consistent.
- Demonstrated effective problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to schedule and prioritize work.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and within deadlines.
- Bi-lingual language skills is a plus
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the responsibilities of the job, the team member is required to see, hear, listen, speak, and write English to convey or receive detailed or important instructions or ideas accurately and timely. The team member is required to sit / stand and be able to type repetitive keystrokes. Although sedentary work, the team member is occasionally required to walk, reach with arms and hands, to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, balance, climb or lift and move objects up to 50 lbs. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision and extended viewing of computer screen.
Works in an office environment; no hazardous or significantly unpleasant conditions, but team member may occasionally be required to perform job duties outside of the typical office setting.
