Job summary

YMCA of the East Bay is seeking staff for its fitness branch membership team. You will provide excellent service to members and guests, promote memberships and programs, and maintain a welcoming lobby area.

The role involves selling memberships, handling transactions, building member relationships, and resolving concerns in a dynamic community setting. CPR/AED and First Aid certifications are required within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience in serving customers, sales or related field.
• Excellent relationship building and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and other computer programs necessary to perform the duties of the job.
• Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments.
• Certifications required within 30 days of hire: CPR/AED and First Aid

Responsibilities

• Provides excellent service to members, guests, and program participants in person and on the phone.
• Sells memberships and handles monetary transactions according to protocol.
• Builds relationships with members and helps connect them with YMCA programs.
• Handles membership concerns and informs supervisor of issues.
• May assist with lobby cleanliness and organization.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
