Job summary

Sam's Club in Ames, IA is seeking a cart attendant to help shape the member shopping experience by keeping the parking lot tidy, assisting with purchases, and ensuring carts are ready for use, rain or shine.

You will also help members load their purchases, provide friendly service at checkout, and work with managers to maintain safety and efficiency across the club. This on‑the‑go role keeps you on your feet and requires strong teamwork and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Ensure club pick‑up orders are filled by contacting members to notify them of delays, inform them of out‑of‑stock items, offer alternative options, ensure items are selected and packaged according to company policies, dispense items when members arrive, resolve member issues and concerns, and promote the company's products and services.
• Maintain facility safety by conducting safety sweeps, following merchandise handling procedures, correcting, and reporting unsafe situations to facility management.
• Provide member service by acknowledging members and identifying needs; assist with purchasing decisions; process purchases; handle payments according to company policies; use cash registers; locate and organize merchandise; zone designated areas; assist with transporting items; retrieve carts using equipment; and maintain parking lot cleanliness.
• Comply with company policies, procedures, and ethical standards, including the Open Door Policy.
• Complete work assignments by using policies, data, and resources; collaborate with managers, co‑workers, customers, and partners; identify priorities, deadlines, and expectations; execute tasks; communicate progress; recommend improvement opportunities; and adapt to change.
