Join to apply for the Member Advocate, Medicare Advantage role at CommuniCare Advantage.

CommuniCare Advantage, an Institutional Special Needs Medicare Advantage Plan (ISNP), is currently seeking a Member Advocate to establish an enthusiastic, customer-oriented presence throughout a designated territory. In this role, the ISNP Member Advocate will engage directly with our health plan members, their families, and care teams to promote and support proactive, appropriate care.

This is a remote position involving weekday travel during business hours, Monday-Friday, to assigned local long-term care facilities in the Cleveland, Ohio region.

Purpose / Belief Statement

Member Advocates are dedicated to assisting members with health plan benefit navigation and facility enrichment to enhance the healthcare experience. They personalize their approach to each member, coordinating services to ensure they receive the right care, at the right time, in the right place. Member Advocates empower members and families to maximize their ISNP benefits.

Our advocacy platform is about helping people find their voice—our members, peers, facilities, providers, and our company. Beyond clinical care, Member Advocacy makes us unique in serving our vulnerable populations.

Qualifications / Education Requirements
  • Required: 3+ years’ experience in healthcare, nursing home, long-term care, geriatrics, social services, Medicare, insurance, advocacy, or customer service.
  • Strong understanding of CMS-regulated healthcare entities and insurances.
  • Compassionate, approachable demeanor.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Proficient in Windows-based and Microsoft applications.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to manage multiple relationships and priorities.
  • Ability to travel throughout the designated local territory Monday-Friday during business hours.

Preferred:

  • Four-year degree or 6+ years of relevant work experience in healthcare, social services, advocacy, or related fields.
