Job summary

Howmet Aerospace Inc. in Whitehall, Michigan is seeking a Melter Technician to join our plant 4 Ti-Ingot operations. This off-shift role sets up, operates, and monitors VAR furnaces and performs routine maintenance and troubleshooting to keep production running smoothly.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED and at least two years of manufacturing experience; strong mechanical aptitude and safety awareness are essential. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of two years work experience; or six months continuous manufacturing experience.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States with no visa sponsorship available.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and monitor VAR furnaces.
  • Read and record vital information and complete paperwork.
  • Perform minor furnace maintenance such as troubleshooting vacuum leaks, repairing and replacing furnace components, and checking fluid levels.
  • Perform housekeeping to keep furnace and work area clean.
  • Comply with all EHS rules for the work environment.
  • Perform other duties, as assigned.

Responsibilities

This off-shift MELTER TECHNICAN will be locatedin our Plant 4, Ti-Ingot Operation. The Melter Technician’s primary responsibilities include the following.

  • Sets up, operates, and monitors VAR furnaces.
  • Reads and records vital information and completes other assigned paperwork.
  • Performs minor furnace maintenance such as troubleshooting vacuum leaks, repairing and replacing furnace components, and checking and maintaining fluid levels.
  • Performs housekeeping activities to keep furnace and work area clean.
  • Complies with all EHS rules required for the work environment.
  • Performs other duties, as assigned.
Qualifications

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of two years work experience; or six months continuous manufacturing experience.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous manufacturing and/or casting experience.
  • Mechanically inclined.
