Job summary

Gerdau Ameristeel Corp. in Virginia seeks a Process Engineer to lead continuous improvement initiatives in Melt Shop operations. You will partner with production leaders, maintenance, and plant management to enhance safety, quality, productivity, reliability and cost efficiency.

Responsibilities include analyzing data, reducing variation, establishing standards, and supporting CAPEX projects while promoting a culture of safety and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• 3-5 years of relevant experience in heavy industry or process manufacturing.
• Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, and quality improvement methods.

Responsibilities

• Lead continuous improvement projects focused on Melt Shop operations.
• Analyze production data to identify trends and root causes.
• Reduce process variation and improve reliability with data-driven methods.
• Develop and maintain process standards and best practices.
• Manage CAPEX projects from planning to execution.
• Collaborate with maintenance, production and leadership teams.
