Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred or successful entrance exam.
• Experience in industrial/manufacturing and operating heavy mobile equipment.
• Includes ability to rotate between 12-hour shifts, days, nights, and weekends.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varied conditions.
• Ability to work in cramped spaces, heights, and extreme temperatures.

Responsibilities

• Perform simple manual tasks with guidance from Melt Shift Supervisor and furnace crews.
• Supply raw materials for melting by adding alloys, fluxes, and refractories.
• Cut unprepared scrap in yard with a cutting torch for the electric furnace.
• Become Billet Yard Crane certified to act as relief operator and assist with maintenance.
• Function as Caster Cutting Attendant and participate in housekeeping in casting area.
• Clean machinery and equipment; assist maintenance; handle tools and parts.
• Perform material handling by unloading trucks to warehouse or work areas.
• Use hand tools and operate forklifts, loaders, and bobcats daily.
