Steel Dynamics, Inc. seeks a floater to assist across the assigned department, including housekeeping, crane operation, scrap disposal with cutting torches, and handling packaging equipment.

You will support routine maintenance, record quality data, and perform utility tasks under supervision. A strong safety mindset, good communication, and a mechanical inclination are essential to succeed in this hands-on role.

Responsibilities

• Operate walking beam conveyors and related handling equipment.
• Support routine maintenance, downturn work and preventative checks.
• Record quality data and monitor safety.
• Perform various utility functions as assigned by area supervisor.

department.

• Housekeeping
• Safe operation of all area cranes and mobile equipment
• Scrap disposal using cutting torches
• Operation of sample shears, strapping and packaging equipment
• Operation of walking beam conveyors and associated handling equipment
• Support routine maintenance activities, downturn work, and preventative maintenance checks
• Continuous observations and recording of quality data
• Various utility functions assigned by area supervisor
• Strong safety awareness
• Good communication skills (verbal, written, and electronic)
• Self-motivated with the ability to work consistently without direct supervision
