Job summary

Pace Industries, LLC is seeking a production/furnace operator to support die casting operations. The role involves setting up and operating furnaces, loading materials, and maintaining quality and safety on the shop floor.

You will perform routine maintenance, document production metrics, and assist with material handling and shipping preparation while adhering to 5S and QMS standards.

Qualifications

  • High School/GED or equivalent.
  • Ability to move between machines as needed.
  • Knowledge of molds and casting process theory.

Responsibilities

  • Tap furnaces as directed by the supervisor.
  • Set up and operate the furnace for melting.
  • Load and unload materials.
  • Clean furnace and equipment.
  • Count, weigh, and record the number of units of materials moved on the daily production sheet.
  • Remove samples of materials, label them, and take samples for lab analysis.
  • Operate industrial truck or hoist to assist in loading or moving materials.
  • Skim sows and ingots; ensure products meet quality standards.
  • Stack, band, and prep product for shipping.
  • Diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repair of furnaces.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment per 5S standards.
  • Complete paperwork promptly (attendance, corrective actions, PM work orders).
  • Follow QMS procedures and ISO/TS requirements.
  • Report unsafe conditions per OSHA and Pace policies.
  • Perform other related duties to support operations.

Responsibilities
  • Tap furnaces as directed by the supervisor
  • Set up and operate the furnace for melting
  • Load and unload materials
  • Clean furnace and equipment
  • Count, weigh, and record the number of units of materials moved on the daily production sheet
  • Remove samples of materials, label them with identifying information, and take samples for laboratory analysis
  • Operate industrial truck or electrical hoist to assist in loading or moving materials and product
  • Skim sows and ingots, paying close attention to detail to ensure products meet or exceed quality standards
  • Stack, band, and prep product for shipping
  • Diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repair of furnaces
  • Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition, ensuring adherence to 5S standards
  • Accurately and timely complete all necessary paperwork (attendance reporting, corrective actions, preventative maintenance work orders, etc.)
  • Comply with established QMS procedures
  • Follow the requirements of the Quality Policy, ISO/TS system, and participate in continuous quality processes
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment and report unsafe conditions in a timely manner
  • Follow all safety rules and policies as set forth by OSHA guidelines and Pace Industries, including wearing approved PPE
  • Perform other related duties as needed to support ongoing operations

Physical Demands
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and handling moderately heavy parts; numerous repetitions per shift
  • Ability to stand for extended periods; bend, reach, and twist as needed
  • Ascend/descend stairs; may be required to sit, walk, climb, stoop, and kneel
