Job summary

Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. in Florida seeks a Maintenance Engineering and Inspection (MEI) Inspector to support Florida DOT maintenance projects and contract coordination.

The role focuses on field inspections, gathering technical data, and generating reports for clients and project teams. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, 2 years of construction administration/inspection experience, and proficiency with MS Office and MS Project.

  • Ability to travel based on client needs.
  • Valid State driver’s license and ability to pass driving records check.
  • Ideally, GIS experience.

Here’s what you’ll need

High School Diploma or GED

Minimum 2 years experience in construction administration/inspection

Valid State driver’s license and the ability to pass a motor vehicle driving records check

Essential Functions

Intermittent sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, and lifting. Lifting requirements limited to 20 lbs. in the form of supplies, drawings, etc. Longest distance carried of 50 feet. Hand manipulation is required for simple grasping, pushing and pulling, and fine manipulation. Right and/or left hands utilized. Occasional need to reach and/or work above the shoulder, for supplies, as well as below the shoulder for same. Must be alert to equipment in the field, there will be occasional travel, will work near construction job site equipment when in the field, occasional need to work near hazardous equipment and machinery, often will need to walk on uneven ground, occasional exposure to dust, gas or fumes, exposure to noise, extremes in temperature or humidity, and potential work at heights.

The base salary range for this position is $60,000.00 to $70,000.00; though will be paid hourly based on hours worked. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
