Job summary

TSMC Arizona is seeking a Design Department Manager to lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers at the Phoenix facility. You will drive design, permitting, and integration with construction, ensuring projects stay on track and within budget.

The role demands deep technical and leadership capabilities across mechanical, electrical, process, structural, and water systems, with close collaboration with AHJs and partners to deliver state-of-the-art semiconductor facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical).
• 10+ years proven expertise in managing complex engineering projects.
• Proficient in MS Office Suite and AutoCAD.
• Experience interfacing between Construction & Design teams.
• Familiarity with local AHJs and code reviewers.

Responsibilities

• Lead a multidisciplinary team of design engineers across major US semiconductor facilities.
• Orchestrate design and permitting from baseline basis-of-design through AHJ approvals.
• Coordinate with Construction to address pre-construction issues and commissioning.
• Develop long-lead equipment strategies and risk mitigations.
• Drive ecosystem development with partners, EORs, AORs, vendors, and designers.
• Identify and resolve critical path bottlenecks to meet milestones.
• Manage project costs and lead value engineering efforts.
• Ensure safety and quality programs are followed in collaboration with partners.
