Job summary

Teleflex in Chelmsford, MA is seeking a co-op in R&D Engineering to assess and mitigate risks in medical device designs. You will gain hands-on exposure to characterization testing, prototyping, and manufacturing settings while collaborating with engineers across multiple disciplines.

The Teleflex ELDP program develops future engineers through practical projects and leadership training, with opportunities to contribute to LMA, catheters, and related product lines.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in mechanical or biomedical engineering or related field.
• Preferred: Junior or Senior standing.
• GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• One year of medical device or related design experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support value-added engineering projects for Intra-Aortic Balloon Pumps and Catheters product line.
• Design and prototype manufacturing fixtures using CAD and rapid prototyping.
• Create DOEs to identify factors affecting design and processes.
• Evaluate a Supplier Initiated Change for sterility, biocompatibility and performance impact.
• Participate in team, project, and town hall meetings; communicate results.
• Follow quality procedures within Teleflex quality management system.
• Collaborate with Process Development, Systems, Design, Manufacturing, Quality and others.
• Assist with problem solving and root cause analysis.
• Support multiple projects with competing priorities and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Assist in optimization activities and non-conformance investigations.
