Job summary

Secant Group, part of the Solesis family, seeks a Director of Operations to lead Pennsylvania manufacturing for medical components and technical textiles. You will translate strategy into actionable operating plans, improve yields and on-time delivery, and sustain a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

The role oversees process optimization, new technologies, capex, safety and quality compliance, and cross-functional collaboration with R&D, Procurement and Finance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in regulated manufacturing; medical device/textile preferred.
• 4+ years in a management role.
• Knowledge of ISO 13485, GMP, and 9001 practices.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams and coach staff.
• Proficiency with ERP systems and MS Office suite.

Responsibilities

• Directs and oversees Medical Component and Technical Textile manufacturing operations, including prototyping, yarn preparation, weaving, knitting and related processes.
• Leads Manufacturing Engineering: expand capabilities, implement new technologies, optimize processes, drive automation and new product introductions.
• Manages capital projects and provides cross-functional project support.
• Champions Daily Management System with Tier Management meetings and SQDCP focus.
• Optimizes scheduling, capacity planning, standardized work, and production controls to meet customer requirements.
• Develops policies, procedures and standards to maximize productivity, quality, and profitability.
• Monitors safety, quality, delivery, inventory, productivity and cost metrics and drives improvements.
• Ensures QMS compliance (ISO 13485, GMP, regulatory requirements) and product traceability.
• Oversees cost accounting, budgeting, and collaboration with Finance on standard costs and forecasts.
• Supports audits, CAPAs and regulatory inspections; ensures timely responses and corrective actions.
• Collaborates with Materials Management and Procurement for cost-effective sourcing and inventory control.
• Identifies capital equipment needs, develops capex plans, and coordinates with Operations Excellence and Facilities.
