Job summary

GRMC Garrett Regional Medical Center in Oakland, MD is seeking a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse to deliver direct patient care in Med-Surg. The role includes working under supervision to promote comfort and functional health within an inpatient setting, following the plan of care and collaborating with the care team.

The position requires an active LPN license (or RN with licensure) and BLS within 30 days.

Qualifications

• Active LPN license (state or eNLC).
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• State and Federal background checks as required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care per plan of care.
• Consult with RN/Respiratory Therapist for nursing guidance.
• Perform designated therapeutic procedures.
• Document observations and patient progress promptly.
• Assist physicians with examinations and procedures.
• Contribute data for nursing assessment and care planning.
• Monitor condition changes and report deviations.
• Educate patient and family regarding care and rehab.
• Document nursing interventions and responses in the chart.
• Administer IM, Subcutaneous, IV, oral, nebulized medications as ordered.
