Job summary

Midwest Health Inc. in Algona, IA is seeking a Direct Care Worker (meds) to provide direct care to residents, assist with activities of daily living, housekeeping, laundry, and med administration according to physician orders.

This role requires the ability to lift and transfer residents, document care, and participate in rotating weekends and holidays; strong English communication and reliability are essential.

Qualifications

• Must complete at least 12 hours of in-service education
• Must complete Relias assignments on time
• Must successfully complete skills check-off with the RN annually
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care to residents for activities of daily living
• Assist with housekeeping and laundry duties, mealtime service, and other duties as assigned
• Assist residents in bed, bathing, dressing, and bathroom needs
• Record vital signs and document information per shift
• Pass medications and provide treatments per physician orders and policies
• Maintain med room and med cart in order
• Provide shift reports on resident status
• Assist with staff and resident safety during emergencies
• Provide resident laundry and housekeeping as scheduled
