Job summary
Upgrade Resources in Houston, TX is seeking a Medium Voltage Technician to install, troubleshoot, and maintain MV systems (5kV–25kV) on client sites. This role requires a Journeyman or Master electrician licensed in Texas, strong troubleshooting across power distribution and automation, and willingness to lead small crews on larger projects.
You will perform MV terminations, HiPot testing, PLC troubleshooting, and coordinate with field teams to ensure safe, compliant, and on-time installations
Qualifications
- TX Master or Journeyman license required.
- Hands-on MV installation, termination, and testing experience.
- Strong troubleshooting across power distribution, motor controls, and automation.
- Valid TX driver's license and clean driving record.
- Able to pass drug screen and 10-year background check.
Responsibilities
- Perform MV installations, cable terminations, and HiPot testing
- Troubleshoot a wide variety of industrial and manufacturing electrical systems
- Troubleshoot and install motor control systems
- Perform manufacturing and light industrial installations, including UPS systems
- Install and connect standby generator systems
- Troubleshoot and program PLCs
- Manage a small crew on larger service and installation jobs
- Provide professional, responsive customer service in client-facing situations
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized jobsite and wear all required PPE
- Complete accurate work orders, time, and material documentation for each job
