Job summary

Teoresi Group in North Carolina is seeking a qualified engineer to support the development of Medium Voltage electrical distribution equipment. This role involves collaboration with global engineering teams on product design, validation, and compliance with industry standards.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, along with over 8 years of experience in electrical power equipment. A strong focus on innovation and quality is essential.

  • Direct experience with Medium Voltage products.
  • Strong understanding of product lifecycle activities.

Job description

We are looking for a:

to support the development, validation, and continuous improvement of Medium Voltage (MV) electrical distribution equipment, ensuring reliable, compliant, and innovative solutions for utility and power distribution applications.

You will work in a collaborative and international environment, partnering with engineering and manufacturing teams across North America, Europe, and Mexico to drive product development activities, certification efforts, reliability improvements, and technical innovation from concept through production.

Key responsibilities
  • Medium Voltage Product Design & Development
  • R&D Support for Reclosers and Distribution Equipment
  • Product Validation, Testing & Certification
  • Root Cause Analysis & Reliability Engineering
  • Electrical, Thermal & Structural Design Reviews
  • Compliance with IEEE, ANSI, IEC, UL & CSA Standards
  • Technical Documentation & Design Release Support
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration with Global Engineering Teams
  • Intellectual Property Development & Technical Leadership
Required Skills
  • Experience in the design and development of Medium Voltage electrical products
  • Knowledge of CT/VT/PT (Current, Voltage or Potential Transformers)
  • Strong knowledge of: MV reclosers, circuit Breakers, switchgear, load break switches, Power Distribution Systems
  • Experience with Product development and R&D environments
  • Knowledge of industry standards including: IEEE, ANSI, IEC, UL, CSA, NEMA
  • Familiarity with engineering simulation and analysis tools such as: ANSYS and FEA
Profile Completes
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
  • 8+ years of experience in the electrical power equipment industry
  • Direct experience with Medium Voltage products and distribution equipment
  • Strong understanding of product lifecycle activities from concept through production
  • Experience supporting global engineering and manufacturing organizations
  • Ability to independently lead technical investigations and engineering initiatives
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Analytical mindset with a focus on quality, reliability, and continuous improvement
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced engineering environment
  • Proactive attitude and strong sense of ownership
  • Passion for innovation and technology development
