Job description

We are seeking an experienced Product Application Engineer – Medium Voltage (MV) to support our expansion in the North American market (USA/CANADA).

This role focuses on MV switchgear and MV circuit breaker applications, and serves as a critical bridge between market requirements, technical standards, product strategy, and engineering execution.

The successful candidate will ensure that our MV products are fully compliant with North American standards, aligned with local application needs, and positioned competitively across key industry segments.

Key Responsibilities

Standards & Compliance Analysis

The candidate will analyze and interpret North American MV standards and specifications, including those developed by IEEE, ANSI, UL, and CSA Group.

The role requires translating these standards into clear product design requirements, compliance checklists, and certification strategies, while also supporting product testing and certification readiness for the U.S. and Canadian markets.

Product & Technology Expertise (MV Switchgear and Circuit Breakers)

The candidate will develop a deep technical understanding of MV switchgear, including metal-clad, metal-enclosed, AIS, and GIS solutions, as well as MV circuit breakers, particularly vacuum-based technologies.

This includes evaluating electrical performance parameters such as voltage, current, and interrupting ratings, as well as protection and control integration, safety features, and system reliability.

The role will provide technical input to optimize product architecture and ensure alignment with market expectations.

The candidate will support sales teams in pursuing MV switchgear and circuit breaker opportunities by preparing technical proposals, reviewing specifications, and developing system solutions such as single-line diagrams.

The role involves direct engagement with customers, consultants, and EPC contractors to provide technical clarification and support project execution across key industries such as data centers, utilities, and industrial sectors.

Qualifications
Basic Requirements

The candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or a related field and possess at least five to ten years of experience in MV switchgear and/or MV circuit breaker applications.

Experience in the North American market is strongly preferred.

Technical Expertise
  • The candidate should demonstrate a strong understanding of MV switchgear technologies, including metal-clad, metal-enclosed, AIS, and GIS designs, as well as MV circuit breakers, with a preference for vacuum technologies.
  • The role requires familiarity with IEEE C37 standards, as well as UL and CSA requirements.
  • A solid understanding of protection systems, short-circuit analysis, and arc flash considerations is essential.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in industries such as data centers, utilities, renewable energy, or industrial power systems is highly desirable.
  • Experience in technical bid support or customer-facing engineering roles is also preferred.
  • Familiarity with engineering software tools such as ETAP or SKM is considered an advantage.
