Job summary

Yaskawa America, Inc. - Drives & Motion Division seeks a Medium Voltage Field Service Engineer based in Northern Illinois/Wisconsin or Texas. You will troubleshoot, repair and test MV drives and motion products in the field or remotely, with up to 70% travel nationwide and to Canada.

Candidate should have a BSEE/BSEET or equivalent, MV experience (2.3kV–15kV), and know PLCs/HMI. Training available in Franklin, WI; Autocad experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• BSEE or BSEET (or equivalent) required.
• Experience servicing automation products, ideally medium voltage power distribution (2.3kV–15kV).
• Experience with variable frequency drives, motion control products, PLCs and HMIs.
• Experience with electronic test equipment; CAD proficiency (Autocad) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair and test products in the field or remotely.
• Advise and train customers including importers, dealers, and end users.
• Improve service capabilities and contribute to putting a down system back in production.
• Travel nationally and to Canada up to 70%+.

We are seeking a Medium Voltage Field Service Engineer to be based in either Northern Illinois/Wisconsin or Texas, however available to travel nationally and/or Canada up to 70%+. You'll work primarily on our medium voltage products, but will also get exposure all of our product lines, including low voltage variable frequency drives and motion control products. Through service calls you will advise and train customers including importers, dealers, and end users, increase sales and image of Yaskawa products as well as improve company-wide service capabilities. Job impact is measured by the timely result of putting a down system back in production. You will work outside in various types of environmental conditions.

You should have BSEE or BSEET or equivalent work experience servicing automation products, ideally medium voltage, power distribution (2.3kV to 15kV). Experience with variable frequency drives, motion control products, PLCs and HMIs is also acceptable. Additionally, experience with electronic test equipment, diagnose electronic circuits, and computer skills, preferably Autocad.

New hire training will occur in Franklin, WI; depending on experience and product knowledge, may be up to two months.
