Job summary

Yaskawa America, Inc. - Drives & Motion Division is hiring a Medium Voltage Field Service Engineer in Wisconsin, with up to 70% travel to national and Canadian locations. Ideal candidates will have a BSEE or related experience, with troubleshooting skills in medium voltage and automation products. Responsibilities include training customers, improving service capabilities, and restoring production efficiently. Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience servicing automation products.
• Experience with medium voltage and power distribution (2.3 kV to 15 kV).
• Familiarity with PLCs and HMIs is a plus.

We are seeking a Medium Voltage Field Service Engineer to be based in either Northern Illinois/Wisconsin or Texas, with national and/or Canada travel up to 70%+. You will troubleshoot, repair and test products in the field or remotely, primarily on medium voltage products, with exposure to all product lines including low voltage variable frequency drives and motion control products. Through service calls you will advise and train customers including importers, dealers, and end users, and contribute to improving service capabilities and the company image. Job impact is measured by the timely restoration of production for down systems. You will work outside in various environmental conditions.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair and test products in the field or remotely, primarily on medium voltage products.
• Advise and train customers (importers, dealers, end users) to improve service capabilities and the perception of Yaskawa products.
• Contribute to sales support and overall service capability improvements.
• Restore down systems to production in a timely manner.
• Work in outdoor environmental conditions in diverse settings.
• Travel nationally and/or to Canada up to 70% or more.
• Work with the full product lines as applicable, including low voltage drives and motion control products.

Qualifications

• BSEE or BSEET or equivalent work experience servicing automation products, ideally with medium voltage and power distribution (2.3 kV to 15 kV).
• Experience with variable frequency drives, motion control products, PLCs and HMIs.
• Experience with electronic test equipment, diagnosing electronic circuits, and computer skills; Autocad preferred.
• New hire training will occur in Franklin, WI; depending on experience and product knowledge, training may be up to two months.
