Job summary

Amgen in Thousand Oaks, CA is looking for a Scientist in Medicinal Chemistry to develop and implement organic reactions, troubleshoot synthetic routes, and contribute to new compound design.

Qualifications

• PhD in Chemistry with a focus on organic synthesis by June 2025, or 6+ years in synthetic organic/medicinal chemistry.
• A proven track record of peer-reviewed publications.
• Ability to perform and troubleshoot high-difficulty synthetic chemistry.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement organic reactions for Medicinal Chemistry teams.
• Design new compounds and develop structure-activity relationships.
• Maintain laboratory notebooks and present findings as necessary.
