Job summary

La Costa Glen Carlsbad is hiring a Medication Technician for a temporary three-month role, with a possible temp-to-hire path. The shift runs 7:00 am to 3:30 pm on Thursdays and Fridays, with a pay rate of $19.75 to $22.20 per hour, in a stable and beautiful work environment.

The position involves supervising the Medication Assistance Program to comply with RCFE regulations, ensuring accurate documentation, safely preparing medications, and auditing medication administration records.

Qualifications

• Current First Aid and CPR/AED certification required.
• One year as a wellness nurse in assisted living/CCRC with Title 22 RCFE knowledge preferred.
• One year experience as a home health nurse a plus.
• Must have strong clinical, customer service, leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Supervisory experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Supervises the Medication Assistance Program to comply with RCFE regulations and ensuring documentation and medication assistance are accurately completed; audits medication administration records regularly.
• Accepts and documents new medications per policy; safely prepares and assists residents with medication administration; maintains accurate medication documentation and completes the three checks of the six rights.
• Responds to on-site emergencies with the emergency response team.
• Conduct welfare checks on residents as directed.
• Provides clerical support and receptionist services for the department as needed.
• Serves as a customer service role model for Resident Associates.

• Supervises the Medication Assistance Program to comply with RCFE regulations and ensuring that documentation and assisting with medication is accurately completed. Audits medication administration records on a regular basis.
• Accepts and documents new medications brought into the community per policy. Safely prepares and assists resident with medication administration. Maintains accurate medication documentation and records. Complete the three checks of the six rights.
