Job summary

Porthaven SNF Healthcare, LLC is seeking a Medication Aide to assist in administering medications to residents as ordered by the attending physician, under the direction of the nurse supervisor or charge nurse, and the Director of Nursing Services.

The administration of medications shall be in accordance with established nursing standards, the policies, procedures, and practices of this facility, and the requirements of this state.

Qualifications

• Administer medications to residents as ordered; document and report administration details.
• Follow facility policies, nursing standards, and state requirements for medication handling.
• Maintain confidentiality and proper charting of medication administration.

Responsibilities

• Follow policies governing administering medications to residents.
• Note and report errors in medication administration.
• Assist in improving procedures to reduce medication errors and enhance safety.
• Complete administrative forms, charts, and reports as required.
• Maintain professional relationships with nursing staff, physicians, the Medical Director, and pharmacists.
• Participate in facility surveys and Quality Assurance programs.
