Job summary

Legacy Oaks of Sacramento Assisted Living and Memory Care seeks a Medication Technician to ensure safe medication delivery and support for residents. You will assist with self-administration under RCFE Title 22, maintain MAR records, and coordinate with physicians and caregivers to ensure accurate orders.

You will supervise caregivers on shift, document care activities in ALIS, and uphold infection control and safety standards in daily operations.

Qualifications

• Completion of state-required medication training/testing for RCFE by company standards.
• Minimum age: 18 years (or as required by state regulations).
• TB clearance (per state requirement).
• First Aid and CPR Certification (per state requirement).
• Criminal background clearance and fingerprinting (LIC 508).
• Health Screening Report (LIC 503).
• Previous experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for medication tray/cart; ensure medications are prepared, organized, and secure.
• Assist residents with self-administration of medications per RCFE Title 22 guidelines.
• Maintain, transcribe, and document medications in MAR per policy.
• Obtain, clarify, and verify physician orders for medications and services.
• Communicate with physicians, pharmacies, and caregivers regarding medication orders.
• Record progress notes, services rendered, and care updates in ALIS.
• Monitor changes in resident conditions and report to supervisors.
• Maintain a clean, secure medication room and proper storage.
