The Variel Assisted Living in Woodland Hills is seeking an experienced Medication Technician (Med Tech) to join a collaborative clinical team. This role focuses on delivering quality care to residents in a luxury senior living setting.

We offer full-time and part-time opportunities on the overnight shift. The ideal candidate has 2+ years of Med Tech experience in assisted living or memory care and a compassionate, professional approach to resident care.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' experience as a Medication Technician in Assisted Living or Memory Care.
• Strong knowledge of medication administration and documentation.
• Experience working with elderly residents in a healthcare setting.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to stay calm, focused, and responsive during overnight shifts.

What You’ll Do

As a Medication Technician, you play a key role in ensuring the safety, comfort, and well-being of our residents.

• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders
• Monitor, document, and report changes in resident condition

Leadership & Team Support

• Provide guidance and oversight to caregivers during your shift
• Assist with shift assignments and coverage needs
• Support onboarding and training of new team members
• Promote a positive, team-oriented work environment
• Partner with nursing leadership on care quality and performance

What We’re Looking For

• Minimum 2 years' experience as a Medication Technician in Assisted Living or Memory Care
• Strong knowledge of medication administration and documentation
• Experience working with elderly residents in a healthcare setting
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to stay calm, focused, and responsive during overnight shifts
• A compassionate, professional approach to resident care

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year of previous experience as a caregiver for older adults, preferably in a residential, assisted living, or long-term care setting.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English effectively to communicate with residents, families, visitors, and team members.
• Ability to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Must successfully complete the community’s Medication Technician training program.
• Demonstrates compassion, patience, professionalism, and a commitment to providing quality care to residents.
• Ability to follow established procedures, instructions, and safety protocols related to resident care and medication assistance.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Ability to frequently talk and listen in order to communicate effectively with residents, families, visitors, and team members.
• Ability to climb, reach, bend, stoop, twist, and move throughout the community as needed.
• Medium work: Ability to exert 20–50 pounds of force occasionally, 10–20 pounds frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
• Ability to see sufficiently to read and write, administer or assist with medications as directed, and visually interact with residents, families, and team members.
• Ability to hear and speak sufficiently to communicate effectively with residents, families, visitors, and team members.
• Ability to safely move throughout the community and perform duties in a fast-paced senior living environment.
