Avina Healthcare is seeking a dedicated nursing professional in Wisconsin to support SNF residents as a CNA with Med Tech responsibilities. The role emphasizes medication hygiene, safety, and accurate documentation of care and administration actions.

Must hold an active CNA license in Wisconsin and complete the Med Tech Course for SNF. Daily pay is available, and a sign-on bonus is offered to eligible candidates who join the team.

Responsibilities

• Follows current standards of hygiene, safety and infection control when handling, storing and disposing of medications.
• Takes and records vital signs when administering medications.
• Recognizes the resident's right to refuse medication.
• Notifies the appropriate RN/LPN when deciding not to administer medication or treatment.
• Clarifies orders with the licensed nurse if inaccurate or contraindicated.
• Monitors residents who self-administer medications and reports deviations to the licensed nurse.
• Secures medication cart.
• Removes discontinued, outdated, or deteriorated drugs from inventory.
• Recognizes and reports unsafe conditions for medication provision.
• Accurately documents medication provision.
• Recognizes and reports general reactions to medications.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Follows current standards of hygiene, safety and infection control when handling, storing and disposing of medications.


• Takes and records vital signs upon administration of medications when required.


• Recognizes the resident's right to refuse medication.


• Notifies the appropriate RN/LPN when making the decision not to administer medication or treatment.


• Clarifies any order or treatment regimen believed to be inaccurate, ineffective or contraindicated by consulting with the appropriate licensed nurse (RN/LPN).


• Monitors residents who self-administer medications and report deviation from the plan of care to the licensed or registered nurse.


• Secures medication cart.


• Removes discontinued, outdated or deteriorated drugs from inventory.


• Recognizes and reports unsafe conditions for medication provision.
