Job summary

Oakmont Senior Living in Vallejo, CA is hiring a Medication Technician to prepare and distribute medications for residents. You will coordinate with residents, pharmacies, and physicians, and maintain confidential records while ensuring safety and quality of care.

We seek compassionate team players with strong customer service and communication skills, able to pass background checks and health screenings. A HS diploma is required; LVN is a plus. This is a full-time on-site role with benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; LVN preferred.
• Completion of training/certification may be required based on state regulation.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must pass Criminal Background check and Health Screening tests (physical and TB).
• COVID-19 PPE and safety protocols may be required per regulatory guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and distribute medication to residents.
• Coordinate medication services with the resident, pharmacy, and physician.
• Order and track all medication changes, refills, and deliveries with pharmacies.
• Maintain accurate, complete, and confidential resident medication and care records.
• Maintain a safe and secure environment for staff, residents, and guests, following safety standards.
• Encourage teamwork through cooperative interactions with coworkers and other departments.

• Prefer one (1) year of experience assisting with medication at a Residential Care Facility for the Elderly (RCFE).
• Based on state regulation, completion of training/certification may be required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• A high school diploma or equivalent; a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) is a plus.
• Must be able to operate MS Office programs (Word, Excel, etc.)
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Strong desire to work with the elderly and care for their needs.
• Possess written and verbal skills to interact and communicate effectively with employees, supervisors, physicians, healthcare professionals, residents, and their families.
• Must pass a Criminal Background check and Health Screening tests, including physical and TB Tests.
