Job summary

Oakmont Senior Living in Oakland, CA is seeking a Part-time Medication Technician to join our care team. You will prepare and distribute medications to residents and coordinate with pharmacies, physicians, and residents to ensure accurate and timely medication services.

Responsibilities emphasize maintaining confidential records, promoting a safe environment, and supporting teamwork with other departments. A HS diploma is required; LVN is a plus, and background checks and health screenings are

Qualifications

• One year of experience assisting with medication in RCFE preferred.
• Based on state regulations, training/certification may be required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent; LVN is a plus.
• Must pass a criminal background check and health screening.
• Vaccination and PPE may be required to prevent spread of illnesses.

• Order and track all medication changes, refills, and deliveries with pharmacies.
• Maintain accurate, complete, and confidential resident medication and care records.

• Prefer one (1) year of experience assisting with medication at a Residential Care Facility for the Elderly (RCFE).
• Based on state regulation, completion of training/certification may be required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent; a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) is a plus.
• Must be able to operate MS Office programs (Word, Excel, etc.).
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Strong desire to work with the elderly and care for their needs.
• Possess written and verbal skills to interact and communicate effectively with employees, supervisors, physicians, healthcare professionals, residents, and their families.
• Must pass a Criminal Background check and Health Screening tests, including physical and TB Tests.
• Team members may be required to vaccinate, participate in daily screening, surveillance testing, and wear face coverings and PPE to prevent the spread of COVID‑19 or other communicable diseases.
