Job summary

The Leonard on Beverly in Los Angeles, CA is seeking a dedicated Medication Technician to join the assisted living team. You will document, deliver and administer medications per physician orders while delivering superior customer service, and adhering to policies and regulatory guidelines.

Schedule is Sunday-Wednesday 6:30am-3:00pm with pay range $23.00-$25.00/hour (DOE). Clearwater Living offers solid benefits and opportunities for growth in a dynamic, people-first environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CNA certification preferred.
• Active First Aid/CPR/BLS certification required.
• Background clearances as required by government regulations.
• TB health requirement met.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with daily medications and care as assigned.
• Observe, verify and document proper medication administration.
• Coordinate medication services with residents, pharmacy and physicians.
• Prepare medications for distribution and track changes/refills.
• Complete narcotic counts with supervisors and report discrepancies.
• Assist caregivers and support daily living activities for residents.
• Maintain confidential records of resident medication and care.

Education

The Medication Technician is responsible for documenting, delivering and administering medicines to residents as prescribed by physician(s) with superior customer service and in accordance with all policies, procedures, government regulators and guidelines.

Pay Range: $23.00 - $25.00/hour (DOE)

Schedule: Sunday-Wednesday 6:30am-3:00pm

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with their daily medications, treatments and resident care as assigned and
• with the scope of practice, policy and procedures, and government regulations
• Observe, verify and document that medication is ingested or applied as directed
• Notify supervisor if prescribed medication is not administered according to directions and
• documenting the reason(s) why
• Maintain clear, accurate, complete and confidential records on resident medication and care
• in accordance with established procedures and governing requirements
• Coordinate medication services with resident, pharmacy and physician(s) and verifying
• dosages with physician prior to dispensing
• Track all orders for medication changes and/or refills - prepare medications for distribution
• up to 24 hours in advance
• Participate in and complete narcotic counts at the beginning and end of shift, reporting any
• and all discrepancies to supervisor(s) immediately
• Assist caregivers in the performance of their job duties and assume caregiver activities and
• responsibilities when needed.
• Respond to resident needs promptly and kindly while maintaining each resident's self-respect,
• personal dignity, personal safety and confidentiality
• Read and follow care plans to ensure proper care is being given to their residents
• Assist residents in their daily living activities including bathing, dressing, hygiene (including
• shaving, hair care, etc.), meals, activities, bowel and bladder functions (including taking to
• bathrooms, portable commodes, changing incontinence products, etc.)
• Provide assistance at mealtime with selecting meals, serving, eating, and clearing trays
• Transport residents as necessary assisting them into and out of bed, wheelchairs, etc. following
• all safety/lifting and transferring techniques - escorting them to/from meals, activities, or
• other transportation needs as requested or assigned

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required
• A minimum of one year of work experience as a Caregiver or Medication Technician
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification preferred
• Active First Aid/CPR/BLS Certification required
• Background clearances as required by government regulations
• Must meet health requirements, including TB
