Job summary

Nexus Family Recovery Center in Dallas, TX is seeking a Medication Room Assistant – FT to support safe, accurate medication handling and patient care in a busy health care setting.

You will supervise client self-administration, manage inventory, coordinate with providers and vendors, and document medications in the e-Mar system. The role emphasizes accuracy, strict confidentiality, and teamwork in a compassionate, trauma-informed environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of a medical assistant, pharmacy technician, or related program preferred.
• Experience in healthcare, behavioral health, or substance use treatment setting preferred.
• Familiarity with medication handling, inventory systems, or pharmacy procedures preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain client files according to HHSC and Joint Commission requirements.
• Update appointment schedules for medical providers and service visits.
• Order and replace supplies to maintain stock levels.
• Document client self-administration of medications in the e-Mar system.
• Assist with audits for quality monitoring and compliance.
