Job summary

Nexus Family Recovery Center in Dallas, TX seeks a Medication Room Assistant (FT) to support safe medication preparation, inventory, and documentation in the medication room.

You will maintain client files, update appointments, manage stock, and record self-administration in our e-Mar system, while following strict HIPAA and CFR 42 guidelines. The role requires attention to detail and teamwork in a structured, fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of a medical assistant, pharmacy technician, or related program preferred.
• Experience in a healthcare, behavioral health, or substance abuse treatment setting preferred.
• Familiarity with medication handling, inventory systems, or pharmacy procedures preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain client files according to HHSC and Joint Commission requirements.
• Maintain and update client appointment schedules for medical providers, counselors, medication pickup, and outside service providers.
• Order and replace supplies to maintain stock levels.
• Observe and document client self-administration of medications in the e-Mar system (Welligent).
• Assist with audits for quality monitoring and compliance.
• Record significant events related to client medical issues.
• Coordinate with local vendors such as pharmacies or labs.
• Ensure the medication room is clean, organized, and securely stored.
