DMC Primary Care is seeking a personable Refill Specialist to join our team in Derry, NH. This full‑time role supports clinical staff by reviewing medication refill requests and ensuring guidelines are met in a fast-paced, patient‑centric environment.

Responsibilities

• Review refill requests and ensure adherence to medication protocols.
• Process refills from multiple sources: phone line, e-prescribe, portal, mail, fax.
• Apply clinical knowledge to refill decisions per guidelines.
• Calculate refill timing before provider authorization.
• Authorize refills and relay to pharmacy with proper documentation.
• Update EMR with refill information and changes.
• Manage refills promptly within designated timeframes.

We are seeking a personable, motivated, and professional Refill Specialist to join our multi‑disciplinary healthcare team. This is a full‑time position located in Derry, NH (not remote).

Hours

• 10:30 am – 7:30 pm Monday – Thursday
• 8:00 am – 5:00 pm Friday
• Saturday rotation (with weekday off)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide support to the clinical staff by reviewing all refill requests and ensuring medication protocols and guidelines have been met.
• Manage refill requests from multiple sources: refill telephone line, e‑prescribe, refill mailbox, Hushmail account, patient portal accounts and fax machine.
• Apply critical thinking and clinical knowledge to process refill requests per protocol and guidelines.
• Calculate when refills are due prior to sending to provider for authorization.
• Authorize drug refills as directed by the provider and supply authorization to telephone/fax prescription to a pharmacy.
• Update patient care information in the EMR related to medication refills.
• Handle refills in a timely fashion, making adjustments to complete refills within the designated timeframe.

Qualifications

• Certification as Pharmacy Technician or Medical Assistant/LNA is preferred but we are willing to train the right individual.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum two years of experience in a physician’s office, pharmacy, or customer‑service setting preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on customer service.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Detail‑oriented, able to multi‑task with constant interruptions.
• Above‑average organizational skills.
• Ability to manage time effectively and independently in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment.
• Demonstrated initiative, good judgment, and empathy when working with team and patients.
• Demonstration of ethical and professional conduct, including ability to maintain confidentiality (HIPAA).
