Job summary

All American Assisted Living in Kingston, NH is seeking a dedicated Medication Nursing Assistant to support residents’ health and safety. You will administer medications under NH MNA credential, verify orders, observe residents, document promptly, and collaborate with licensed nurses to ensure safe, consistent care.

This full-time role runs 7:00 to 3:00, emphasizes medication safety, infection control, and compassionate daily support for older adults.

Qualifications

  • Current and valid New Hampshire Medication Nursing Assistant credential

Responsibilities

  • Report refusals, omissions, errors, or adverse reactions immediately

What You'll Do

  • Administer medications as permitted by the employee’s current New Hampshire MNA credential
  • Follow provider orders, medication-administration records, community policies, and established procedures
  • Verify resident identity and medication information before administration
  • Observe residents before, during, and after medication administration
  • Document medication administration accurately and promptly
  • Report medication refusals, omissions, errors, adverse reactions, or other concerns immediately
  • Monitor for changes in resident condition and report concerns to the licensed nurse
  • Follow established medication parameters and report findings outside those parameters
  • Maintain medication carts, supplies, records, and storage areas
  • Ensure medications are stored securely and handled properly
  • Follow infection-control, resident-safety, and medication-security procedures
  • Communicate with licensed nurses, pharmacies, residents, families, and other team members as directed
  • Respond promptly to resident requests and emergency-call systems
  • Provide respectful and compassionate support to residents
  • Maintain resident privacy, dignity, rights, and confidentiality
  • Participate in required meetings, training, competency reviews, and in-service education
  • Seek nursing direction whenever an order, medication, resident response, or circumstance is unclear
  • Complete additional duties that are permitted by the employee’s credential, training, competency, and assigned role

What We’re Looking For

  • Current and valid New Hampshire Medication Nursing Assistant credential
  • Any underlying nursing-assistant credential or qualification required for the position
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to medication safety
  • Ability to follow medication orders, policies, procedures, and supervisory direction
  • Strong observation, organization, and time-management skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly and respectfully with residents, families, nurses, pharmacies, and team members
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing, as required to understand medication orders, document services, report changes in resident condition, and respond during emergencies
  • Ability to recognize when a concern must be reported to a licensed nurse
  • Ability to work independently within the assigned role while knowing when to seek nursing direction
  • Compassionate, patient, and dependable approach to resident care
  • Previous assisted living, memory care, long-term care, or senior-care experience is preferred
  • Dependable attendance and punctuality
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and remain active throughout the workday
  • Ability to safely lift, transfer, push, or pull up to (physical requirement) pounds with assistance or available equipment
  • Ability to successfully complete required background checks, health screenings, and employment requirements

New Hampshire Credential Requirements

  • Must hold a current and valid New Hampshire Medication Nursing Assistant credential
  • Credential must remain active and in good standing throughout employment
  • Must maintain all required training, competency, supervision, and underlying qualifications
  • May only administer medications and perform related duties permitted by the employee’s credential, training, competency, and assigned role
  • Must work under the direction and supervision required by applicable law and community policy
  • Must promptly report changes in resident condition, medication concerns, and situations requiring nursing judgment
  • May not independently perform nursing assessments, develop nursing care plans, provide nursing diagnoses, or delegate nursing care
