Job summary

Behavioral Health Group (BHG) is the leading provider of opioid addiction treatment services with over 115 locations and more than 1,900 employees. The Medication Nurse (LPN/RN) administers methadone, screens patients, and maintains close contact with counselors regarding progress, operating within license scope.

The role emphasizes accurate dosing records, regulatory compliance, and teamwork to support patient outcomes and safety.

Qualifications

• Licensed as LPN/LVN in KY.
• CPR and First Aid certified.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Preferred experience in chemical addiction.
• Accurate data entry skills and basic computing knowledge.
• Ability to work independently under pressure and handle multiple tasks.
• Knowledge of dosing equipment, centrifuge, physical assessment tools, test strips, breathalyzers, and other medical equipment.
• Basic knowledge and skill in using standard office equipment.

Responsibilities

• Administer methadone as prescribed by physician orders.
• Evaluate and assess new and current patients for treatment suitability.
• Observe and assess patients post-administration.
• Follow all physician orders and dosing guidelines.
• Coordinate and prepare dosage packages for patients.
• Maintain accurate patient dosing records and inventory reconciliation.
• Receive medication shipments per DEA and company procedures.
• Train new nurses and participate in monthly trainings.
• Communicate with nursing team and treatment staff regularly.
• Ensure treatment center meets accreditation standards.
