Job summary

Carlton Senior Living in Fremont, CA is seeking a Medication Manager to oversee resident pharmacotherapy, verify prescriptions with physicians, and ensure accurate dispensing in a compassionate, resident-centered environment. You will maintain medication records, monitor inventory, train staff, and ensure compliance with state regulations and company policies.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree (A. A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
• Two years of related experience and/or training is preferred, but not necessary.
• Reasonable expectations of mathematical, technical, and reasoning skills to perform essential job responsibilities.
• According to Title 22 requirements, employees must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.

Responsibilities

• Interview residents or representatives to obtain information for resident needs and medication dispensation.
• Explain community policies for medications and pharmacy benefits.
• Identify training opportunities for Medication Technicians; assist in training as assigned.
• Enter resident information into computer and route copies to designated personnel.
• Compile data for occupancy and census records in the Medication Department.
• Verify residents' medications with physicians and adjust as needed.

What We Are Hiring For:

Schedule: Sunday through Thursday

Salary Range: $73,000 to $74,000 Per Year

What You’ll Do:

• Interview residents or representatives to obtain the necessary information for the resident’s needs and for the proper dispensation of medications, attending Physician, and the Individual or Insurance Company responsible for payment of the bill.
• Explains Community policies such as guidelines for medications, and community pharmacy’s benefits regarding medications, payment of accounts, and schedule of charges.
• Identifies and immediately reports any opportunities identified for further training needs of the Medication Technicians to the DRS. Assists DRS in training/education as assigned.
• Enters resident information into computer and routes printed copy to designated personnel.
• Compiles data for occupancy and census records in the Medication Department.
• Verifies the resident’s medications before dispensation with the resident’s physician and every six months thereafter, to provide the best service and make sure the resident is taking the proper dosages and the proper medication.
• Manages the refill of medications, and changes directions as per Doctor’s orders.
• Monitors and supervises the dispensation, storage, and destruction of medications; maintains records and logs of medications as per State Regulations, Company Policies, and Doctor orders.
• Understands and enforces Company Policies and Procedures and State Regulations.
• Understands all emergency protocols, responds to emergencies, and assists DRS in providing direction for associates during emergencies when needed
