Medication History Technician, PRN
The medication history technician (MHT) is responsible for accurately obtaining and entering current patient medications and allergies into the hospital's electronic medical record for utilization by the physicians responsible for admitting and discharging the patient from the hospital. The MHT is also responsible for relaying or escalating any medication-related issues that they cannot address to the pharmacist and/or physician. This position also performs limited medication management and distribution duties.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Experience:
Two years of retail/hospital pharmacy experience is required.
One year of computer experience is required.
Certification/Licensure:
Licensed as a Certified Pharmacy Technician by the Virginia Department of Health Professions required.
Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) required.
